Katy has always used computers to stimulate her problem-solving mind. Although her major at Earlham College was in Biology, which didn't bring her very close to doing web development, since being out in the real world, she has picked up these skills. She learned by trial and error. Katy started working with AWP in August 2007.
Although she has only been in Ithaca for 2 years, her roots are well established here. She can often be seen wandering around town, playing soccer, throwing a Frisbee, hiking the Finger Lakes Trail, volunteering in the Town of Caroline, and hanging out with her family. She loves to patron local businesses, get her food locally, and get to know people in Ithaca. When projects reach design completion, Katy takes over. She wrangles code, converting beautiful design into the language of the Internet. A big part of what she does is integrate websites into WebTree, so clients can update their sites using our custom-built Content Management System. One of her main tasks is to keep up to date with the latest web standards to implement in the building of sites. Katy has always been interested in community involvement, so it is a natural fit that she found herself at the leading web design company for the Ithaca area.
